Stranger MidiTablism – Tutorial & Routine Sounds

with No Comments

A precisely located synth bass note within the song Sweet Dreams is played by the arpeggiator with MidiTablism techniques in a morphing transition recreating the iconic bass line from Stranger Things. The arpeggio sounds so effective because both songs were produced with the legendary Roland Juno-6 synthesizer.

Audio files

  1. Load Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by Eurythmics into Serato DJ Pro and set Cue Point 8 (purple) at 00:05.5, immediately after the kick.
  2. On the other deck, load Stranger Things (Scratch Synths).
  3. In Sampler Slot 1, load Kick 84 BPM.

MIDI Mapping

For Pitch Play on a MIDI keyboard, I modified a mapping originally created by Radikarl, adding C2 to trigger Sampler Slot 1 in Serato DJ Pro

Note: Pitch Play works only on Cue Point 8.
Set MIDI Channel 1 for Deck 1 and Channel 2 for Deck 2.

Download the MIDI mapping and import it following Serato’s official instructions.
